Visitors to Fayetteville can fly through the new Northwest Arkansas XNA Airport.
Northwest Arkansas is served by twelve major and regional air carriers including American Airlines, Delta Airlines, Continental Express, United Airlines, U.S Airways, and MESABA Airlines which fly to Northwest Regional Airport (XNA). The Northwest Regional Airport is located just to the north of Fayetteville, about 30 minutes from the town center. Fayetteville also operates and maintains Drake Field, home to corporate aircraft and businesses, which is about 5 minutes to the town center.
XNA Northwest Regional Airport
Northwest Arkansas's XNA is the fastest growing regional airports in the nation and one of the most recent regional airports built in the United States. The airport opened to a dedication by President Bill Clinton in 1998 and immediately realized phenomenal monthly increases in passenger embarkations and direct service routes to many major markets throughout the nation. XNA currently offers 90 flights daily in and out of Northwest Arkansas and direct jet service to New York, Los Angles, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, St. Louis, Memphis, Cincinnati, Charlotte, and Minneapolis with plans to expand service in the near future. The west coast can be reached by midmorning and the east coast shortly after noon .

The site of the airport is centrally located within close proximity to all the communities of Northwest Arkansas while also being far enough away from populated areas so as to minimize any adverse impact from aircraft operations. The access to the new airport is provided from the Highway 71 bypass on Highway 264 at the Lowell exit and from Bentonville on Highway 12.

Fayetteville Municipal Airport - Drake Field
Drake Field honored as one of region's top airports in 2006
Fayetteville Municipal Airport, Drake Field is the premiere general aviation airport in Northwest Arkansas serving the needs of both private and corporate aviation. The Fayetteville Municipal Airport is located 3 miles south of the town center in Fayetteville. In 1936 Drake Field was established in honor of Dr. Noah Drake, today Fayetteville Municipal Airport has services more than 80 aircraft at Fayetteville Drake. Many corporate and T-style hangers access a newly rejuvenated 6006 foot long and 100 foot wide runway fully equipped for visual and instrument operations.
Recent construction projects include a 18,750 square foot, multipurpose hangar, a new executive ramp area and a new eight unit twin size T-hangar. DHL Worldwide flies cargo to and from Northwest Arkansas from Drake Field. Located at Drake Field is the Ozark Military Museum, as well as, the Arkansas Aviation and Technology Center which graduates several mechanics every year from its Airplane and Powerplant program. A small staff of City employees operates the airport and prides itself on excellent customer service and outstanding client relations. Fayetteville Municipal Airport services are available 24 hours a day seven days a week.
